June Pink Parcel- The Processions Edit.
I may be new to the world of blogging, but i am a veteran when it comes to subscription boxes and beauty reviews. I have mainly been confined to Instagram so far, but i decided i wanted to branch out to another platform where i could have longer blog posts and a further reach. I realise that fitness, beauty products and mental health are very random subjects to put together, but i wanted to use this blog as a place to write about all the things that make me happy and that i am passionate about. I hope that you all enjoyed my first blog post about yoga, and that you will enjoy my future content!
With that being said, i received my Pink Parcel for the month of June, so i thought i would post a review up on here for you all. This months edition comes in a one off, pretty patterned and removable sleeve, which celebrates the 100 year anniversary of the Suffragette movement and women's rights to vote, which is a really important issue to highlight, particularly with the recent issues with the Gender Pay Gap and Equality. It is nice to be able to celebrate historical events such as these, and really makes you appreciate the sacrifices people have made for us.
For those of you who are not familiar with the concept of Pink Parcel, it is a monthly subscription box for women at that time of the month when we need an extra bit of pampering! They deliver sanitary products to your door, which means that you don't have to worry about being caught short! You can choose if you want tampons, pads or a mixture of both, and they send you more than enough to cover your needs. You can also select what type of flow you have, so they can match you up accordingly.
The sanitary products come neatly packaged in boxes labelled 'For Night' and 'For Later', as well as a small drawstring bag with the words 'For Now' on it. This contains a good supply of you sanitary products for you to slip into your bag, and it is nicely patterned to remain discreet.
Alongside these, is a box labelled 'For You'. This is where the real magic happens! There is a little booklet called 'Pink Parcel Post', which details the products inside, and tells you a little bit more about them, as well as the issues raised in the box theme (The Suffragettes this month).
So, what was inside this little box of joy then?
The first thing i pulled out was The Beauty Crop GRLPWR Liquid Lipstick in the shade Piedaho. The packaging caught my eye instantly, the purple/pink colour and the bold writing, in the style of neon lights made me wonder what was inside. When i removed it from the box, i was really struck by how nice the tube was- a rose gold coloured lid and matching lip silhouettes adorned the tube, as well as a frosted glass effect to make it look more stylish. The colour is a deep red, and is described in the accompanying booklet as being 'a hydrating and creamy lipstick with serious staying power'. It is a matte formula, long wearing and won't cake or dry out your lips, which is a big issue i have found with liquid lipsticks in the past. I am very excited to add this to my growing collection, i am a fan of a red lip but have not used a shade this deep before. I will let you know how i get on! This product is priced at £11 if bought individually.
The next thing i pulled out was The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Lip Balm. I have actually received one of these in a previous beauty box before, so i already know that i like it. It contains Shea butter, pomegranate, rose hip and vitamin E, so the formula is really rich and can penetrate deep into the lips. These ingredients help to restore moisture in your lips, and protect them from the elements (which, here in England, can happen a lot in one day!) You can wear this alone, or under lipstick (such as the Beauty Crop one mentioned above!). It is priced at £13 individually.
Another product that caught my eye was the Vitamasque Gold Sheet Mask. There were 4 different ones available, and I got the Plumping one. I am a self confessed mask addict, i have an unhealthily large collection, but one more can't hurt, right? I had actually never heard of this brand before, which was great and is one of the reasons i love beauty boxes so much- you get to discover products and brands that you may not otherwise have tried. These are inspired by Korean beauty and promise supple and radiant skin, in a luxurious and opulent formula. I am so excited to try this out! These masks are priced at £5.99.
One thing i love about Pink Parcel is, they always seem to know what you need at that time of the month, even if you don't know yourself! With that being said, the next item out of the box was the Montezuma's Minted Milk Chocolate with Crunchy Peppermint Mini Bar. Who doesn't love chocolate at that time of the month? Another new brand discovery for me, i was immediately drawn to the green packaging, a salute to the hero colour of the month, this bar was devoured in seconds! It is crunchy, rich and just the right amount of minty, a lovely little treat! Priced at £2.59 for a 100g bar.
The next thing i pulled out was Teapigs Snooze-Sleepy Tea. I have to say, i like a good cuppa, but i don't drink a lot of it and i can be a little funny with flavoured teas. However, i love the idea of a tea that is designed to help you sleep easier, especially as it can sometimes be difficult during that time of the month when you are in a lot of discomfort. I am familiar with Teapigs, but have never tried their products, so i am happy that i get the chance to! This tea is said to help re-energise your body and mind and contains a soothing mix of chamomile, apple and lavender. This is the type of tea that you need to leave to infuse in boiling water for a few minutes (the booklet recommends 3) and is perfect to drink before hitting the hay. 15 of these teabags are priced at £3.99.
The second to last item i pulled out was Marvis Cinnamon Mint Toothpaste. I know what you are thinking: Cinnamon and Mint together? I thought the same! But honestly, it works better than i could have imagined! I am not familiar with this brand, they are a luxury Italian brand and this toothpaste is said to help protect your teeth and gums, prevent decay, freshen breath and whiten teeth, all in a creamy and refreshing formula that tastes amazing. I am very impressed! These are priced at £7 for an 85ml tube.
Finally, the last thing to be taken out were the Bandzee Suffragettes Edition Hairbands. They come in the iconic suffragette shades of green, white and violet, and have empowering and inspirational quotes across them. They are a special edition and are said to be better for your hair than traditional hairbands, with less pulling and hair kinks. These are priced at £6.95 for a pack of 4.
So, that is all the products, plus the sanitary items that were included as well. The boxes cost just £12.99, with free delivery! You cannot go wrong, as the value of the box always adds up to much more than what you pay, and who doesn't love a little treat when it is time of the month?
This is the 4th box i have had from Pink Parcel to date and i am yet to be disappointed.
