Look Fantastic August 2019- The Heatwave Edit.

It’s that time of the month again where Look Fantastic arrives. As you will know, I have found this box has been pretty hit and miss as of late and after seeing a spoiler for this month’s box (accidentally!), I wasn’t at all excited about it, but was willing to give it a chance as sometimes items can be better when you actually get them.

This edition is call The Heatwave Edition to help you switch up your daily look and discover beauty saviours to beat the heat. We have been having some lovely weather of late here in England and so this theme is pretty spot on.

The first item in the box was last month’s spoiler- Luxie 737 Tapered Highlighter Brush (RRP £26.50). I have to say, this brush feels so luxurious and high quality. It has a tapered shape to help emphasise high points of the face and long bristles combined with an ergonomic design to help blend powders seamlessly into the skin. I am always looking for new brushes to add to my collection and this one is lovely, so I can’t complain about this.

The next item was a brand I have a few items from already- BellaPierre Heatwave Highlighting Palette (RRP £29.99). This is a Look Fantastic exclusive and boasts five stunning colours with a buttery formula. You can use this for strobing, highlighting or even as eyeshadow. I am trying to get better at makeup and try new techniques, so I am looking forward to trying this to see what I can do with it. The colours are lovely, and I can use it with the brush above too.

The third item was James Read 1 Hour Glow Mask Face and Body (RRP £12.50). This helps you to achieve a sunkissed glow overnight. It is enriched with Aloe Vera, Hyaluronic Acid and Algae Extract to hydrate skin and ensure a long lasting and even tan. The formula itself is colourless so it won’t stain clothing and the colour is said to suit all skin tones. I cannot find any information on the cruelty free status of this brand, so I am not sure if I am going to use it, but I know this brand is a highly sought after and well-known brand and so far, the value of this box is pretty staggering.

The fourth item is definitely up my street- and has already been used- Natura Herb Infused Sheet Mask (RRP £4.95). This mask is infused with a variety of Herbs and Vitamins to rebalance the skin, reduce pores and brighten the complexion, as well as hydrating and nourishing dry skin to soothe and protect from the summer months! I loved this, although I did struggle to get it to fit my face properly as it was a little big. But aside from that, it smelt lovely, was absolutely saturated in the serum and left my skin feeling lovely!

The fifth item is Doucce Luscious Lip Stain in the shade ‘Holiday Getaway’ (RRP £11.95). This is a lovely coral colour and it highly pigmented and vibrant. The perfect summer shade that lasts all day, this gives lips a plumped and sculpted look without feathering. I do like this colour, and don’t have much coral in my makeup bag, so I am willing to give this a go, but they do feature this brand a lot and it would be nice to get a bit more variety.

The final item is Rituals the Ritual of Holi Body Cream (RRP £6.90). This will bring a splash of colour to your pamper regime and will soften and condition the skin. It has a delicate scent of Flamingo Flower and Pink Grapefruit and absorbs quickly into the skin too. I have used this today and my skin feels lovely, and still subtly scented all these hours later!

So in terms of value, this box cannot be faulted and on closer look, the box is not as bad as I first thought, as most of the things I will get use out of. I am still not wowed by it though, and that is one of the reasons I buy these boxes- because they excite me and give me the wow factor. When I first subscribed to this box, they were consistently amazing and that is why I am so disappointed with the sudden decline.
