Skin to Glow Box April 2021- The Spa Day Edit

Another day and another unboxing- not that I am at all complaining! This is a totally new box to me and I was very kindly gifted this by Samantha over at Skin to Glow! Thank you so much for reaching out, I am so excited to be doing this review!

For those of you who are not familiar, Skin to Glow are a clean, natural and cruelty free subscription service offering non toxic beauty products that work! So basically, everything I love, all rolled into one subscription! So many skin issues are irritated or caused by the products we use on our skin and since I went natural with my skincare, I have never looked back!

As always, I unboxed this over on my YouTube channel and you can catch that here:

It would mean the world to me if you subscribed too! I really enjoy doing these videos and am hoping to branch out my content too!

So, onto the box! It arrived very securely packaged and once I had opened it, I was met with a beautifully presented box emblazoned with the logo and wrapped in a black ribbon stating 'Beauty with a conscience'. It also felt really heavy- a sure sign that I was in for a treat!

As mentioned in the title. the theme for the month is Spa Day and the box has been carefully curated with products designed to help you treat yourself to that TLC that you deserve! I love to have pamper days- usually these take place on a Saturday for me. I roll out my yoga mat and do some stretching then I will have a lovely long shower where I pamper myself with an array of products. I am so relaxed when I am done! With that in mind, I was very excited to see what awaited me inside!

There were a couple of leaflets for a couple of brands and also a product card, which I will be referring to whilst I write this, but once I peeled back the pink shavings hiding my treats, I don't think I could contain my excitement!

The first item I took out was a totally new brand for me! Aura Organics Cucumber and Sea Algae Anti Blemish Face Mask (RRP £24). Aura Organics are a small family business inspired by a love of nature and with a background in chemistry! They use their knowledge of healing plants to create products that benefit the skin, the body and the soul. This mask is so luxurious, it is definitely a treat! It helps to soothe inflammation and blemishes as well as calming and detoxifying the skin to draw out impurities. It is rich in antioxidants to help boost skin cell renewal and the inclusion of willow bark helps to reduce acne breakouts. There is also salicylic acid to gently exfoliate, clean the pores and leave skin healthy and clear.

Whilst I don't suffer from spots/acne per se, I did have a bad reaction to some medication that I was put on last year which did cause my normally clear skin to break out! This is almost settled down now, but it is always good to have items like this on standby as I know my skin can be unpredictable since the reaction! I don't have any blemishes to test this out on so can't speak for the reduction claims but this mask definitely helped my skin to feel calmer and squeaky clean as well! The pot is also huge, so I should get a fair amount of use from this!

The next item is from a brand I have heard of but have never had the opportunity to try- until now! Betty Hula Shea Butter Moisturiser Champagne and Spice (RRP £12.99). Betty Hula specialise in creating honest and natural skincare. Their products are all handmade here in the UK using traditional techniques and the highest quality ingredients. They also use a range of beautiful and exotic scents to complete their products. This heavenly body butter helps bring your skin's youthfulness back to life with a blend of shea butter, coconut oil and aloe vera to nourish the skin and leave it soft, radiant and smelling divine.

I can definitely vouch for the 'smelling divine' and 'beautiful scents' part- this is honestly one of the nicest body butters I have ever smelled! I love the quirky packaging, I love how rich the formula is without feeling heavy or greasy on the skin and I honestly cannot get enough of the scent! I applied this after my shower one evening and not only did it leave my skin smelling incredible for hours after, but my entire flat too!

Next up, and a brand I have tried before! Butterwhips Planted Feet Whipped Exfoliating Scrub (RRP £10). Butterwhips is a UK based company who make skincare based around their core principles of using 100% natural ingredients that are kind to the skin, cruelty free and contain no fillers or synthetic additives. This unique, whipped foot scrub combines pumice and coconut sugar to gently exfoliate hard skin whilst organic oils and lemon penetrate the skin to moisturise and leave the feet soft and healthy. The inclusion of peppermint, black spruce and vitamin e help to enhance the antibacterial properties of the scrub.

I was a fan of this brand the last time I tried their products and so I was expecting the same again! As we are heading into summer, people are now starting to think about wearing sandals and showing off their feet so this is the perfect addition to the box. I do often neglect my feet but they carry me through every day so I need to start taking more care of them. This scrub definitely helps with that! It is very zingy and refreshing, feels very gentle on the skin and leaves my feet feeling soft and pampered!

The next brand is another that I have tried before and loved! Yes To Exfoliating Body Wash (Carrots) (RRP £10). Yes To believe in innovative, natural and fun skincare that is free from nasties and full of goodies! Created in the US in 2006 by 2 friends who wanted to create a beauty range that was natural and made from fruit and veg, they are known worldwide for their innovative formulas. This is made with organic carrots and contains ground walnut shells to gently exfoliate the skin. It is free from petroleum, SLS and parabens and is perfect for sensitive skin as it helps to protect from external environmental stressors whilst nourishing the skin.

I have tried many an item from Yes To before, I think I have one of their tomato face masks in my bathroom as we speak! This tube is a huge size and so I will get plenty of use from it. Happily, it doesn't smell like carrots, which is a plus for me. As much as I like to eat them (Carrot sticks and Houmous, anyone?), I don't particularly want to smell like them so luckily, that won't be an issue! I haven't tried this on my whole body as yet as I am currently making my way through another body scrub but I tried it on my hands for the sake of this review and it is definitely very gentle and left my hands soft and smooth afterwards!

The fifth item (yep, still going!) was from their own range! It was a Jade Facial Roller (RRP £12.99- see link above). Jade rollers use cool weightedness of polished Jade to energise and renew the complexion, improve the health and glow of the skin and evenly spread oils for a luminous effect. As they are naturally cooler than room temperature, they are great for helping to soothe inflamed skin, reduce puffiness and helping to tighten the skin. They also assist in lymphatic drainage and can ease stress due to how lovely they feel to use!

I actually already have a Jade Roller but it is always good to have a spare! I like to use this in the morning to help wake me up! I use it after I apply my facial oil, rolling it across my skin to help in the absorption of the products. The smaller end is great for those hard to reach and more delicate areas such as under your eyes, down the sides of your nose and across your brows and the larger side is great for the cheeks, chin and forehead. It definitely helps my eyes feel less puffy in a morning- especially now it is hayfever season!

Lastly, and an item that wasn't listed on the product card, was the final pampering treat! Popmask Jetsetter Self Warming Sleep Mask (RRP approx £3.20 based on a pack of 5). This works in a very similar way to Spacemasks and are designed to help you relax and drift off to sleep. They are made with Jasmine extract and they warm up on contact with oxygen. You simply place over your eyes and relax- they stay warm for around 15-20 minutes. The mask itself is made from non woven cotton, each heat cell contains iron powder, vermiculite, activated carbon, salt and water, all naturally occurring ingredients. The mask contains jasmine essence for a soothing scent.

I love these types of mask, I have a stash of them in my bathroom for those sleep emergencies! Whilst I am not planning on jetting off anytime soon (damn covid!), I know from experience that these work just as well when your feet are firmly on the ground and I will be saving this for my next restless night!

So, an amazing selection of items to help you pamper from top to toe with an impressive overall RRP of £73.18! I am genuinely so impressed with this box- I cannot find fault in it at all! I know you will all be wondering about the prices so here goes:

Another thing I love is that the brands featured are so different from the brands you see in other boxes. which makes it so much more fun to review!
