Skin to Glow May 2021- The Earth Day Edit
Another day and another unboxing- not that I am at all complaining! You may remember I reviewed this last month too and once again, I was very kindly gifted this by Samantha over at Skin to Glow! Thank you so much for reaching out, I am so excited to be doing this review!
For those of you who are not familiar, Skin to Glow are a clean, natural and cruelty free subscription service offering non toxic beauty products that work! So basically, everything I love, all rolled into one subscription! So many skin issues are irritated or caused by the products we use on our skin and since I went natural with my skincare, I have never looked back!
As always, I unboxed this over on my YouTube channel and you can catch that here:
It would mean the world to me if you subscribed too! I really enjoy doing these videos and am hoping to branch out my content too!
So, onto the box! It arrived very securely packaged and once I had opened it, I was met with a beautifully presented box emblazoned with the logo and wrapped in a black ribbon stating 'Beauty with a conscience'. It also felt really heavy- a sure sign that I was in for a treat!
The theme this month is Earth Day. World Earth Day was on April 22nd and this box is celebrating the brands that are trying to go that extra mile to become more sustainable, ethical and more considerate to our amazing planet. Whether this is through going plastic free, reducing carbon emissions or donating to charities to help struggling communities and the environment all the products in the box are from brands that are working hard to give back to the world.
Such an amazing theme, I think you will agree! I am definitely trying to do my bit and become more conscious of the products I use. With that in mind, I was very excited to see what awaited me inside!
There were a couple of leaflets for a couple of brands and also a product card, which I will be referring to whilst I write this, but once I peeled back the pink shavings hiding my treats, I don't think I could contain my excitement!
The first item is from a brand I have not actually come across yet, which is rare these days! Sheeba London Seaweed Collagen Moisturiser (RRP £15.99). Sheeba London are a small natural beauty brand who believe that less is more. They specialise and pride themselves on creating multitasking products to simplify your routine. All their products are clean, organic and vegan as well as being carefully packaged with the environment in mind. All the products come in glass jars and bottles and plastic is totally avoided! Their postal packaging is biodegradable as well!
This is a multitasking moisturiser which is 99% natural, organic and vegan as well as being cruelty free (of course!). It contains Marine Collagen Peptides which help the skin to retain moisture and suppleness as well as reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles! It also has AHA Fruit Acid to gently exfoliate dead skin cells to leave your skin clear and bright, as well as helping with hyperpigmentation. The inclusion of Passionfruit and Tea Tree Oil gives a dose of retinol to help fade dark spots, sun spots and hyperpigmentation as well as reducing the signs of aging. Lastly, Rosehip Oil is rich in antioxidants to assist in cell regeneration.
I absolutely love everything about this- from the frosted glass jar (a touch of luxury!) to the light and delicate formula, it really packs a punch and my skin looks so radiant! Whilst lines and wrinkles are not a problem for me yet, I am 30 now so I know that it is only a matter of time! Prevention is better than the cure, right?
I think I squealed when I saw the next item- for good reason though, as it is one of my all time favourite brands! Dr Botanicals Lemon Superfood All in one Rescue Butter (RRP £14.90). Dr Botanicals Apothecary Range- which this product is from- is vegan and natural, embodying their belief in the power of botanicals. They have set themselves a target of being carbon free by 2025 and to only use recyclable packaging. They carefully select their suppliers and only work with those who share the same desire to be eco friendly and collaborate with the Environmental Working Group.
This product is another amazing multitasker as it can be used as a moisturiser, a treatment or even a cleanser! It is packed full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to help rejuvenate and invigorate tired and dull skin. It contains Lemongrass Oil, known for it's healing properties, Coconut Oil for moisturising, Almond Oil to deeply nourish the skin thanks to the Vitamin A, E, fatty acids and minerals it contains, Grapeseed Oil to replenish dehydrated skin and Seabuckthorn Oil to heal and rejuvenate.
When I say I love this brand, I mean it! I have so many of their products in my bathroom but not this one- until now! I have seen this product crop up in a few boxes over the last few months and have been green with envy at missing out but now I don't have to be! I used this on my elbows and knees, as well as on my heels as they tend to be drier areas and my skin practically drank it up and felt super soft afterwards! I am looking forward to trying it out as a cleanser soon!
The next item is yet another new brand- I am loving this! Hair Syrup Rapunzel (RRP £26.50). Hair Syrup are a small, UK based brand who create no nonsense, non toxic and natural prewash hair treatments. They all come in recyclable packaging and they offer eco pouch refills. Even better- they are completely carbon neutral!
This is a natural, hand poured oil that has been designed to promote healthy, Rapunzel like hair growth! It is infused with invigorating Pink Grapefruit Oil, which is a powerful antioxidant known to promote hair growth- as well as smelling amazing! This intensive prewash treatment deeply nourishes the hair to give incredible shine and length.
I love hair products- I have a lot of it, as you are probably aware! You apply this before you wash your hair and leave it for an hour, so I plan to give this a try on a saturday morning, roll out my yoga mat for an extended practice and let it work it's magic before I rinse it out and wash my hair as normal. It smells absolutely incredible and should last me a good while too!
Next up is a brand I have tried before- but only their lip balms! Fruu Grapefruit Deodorant Balm (RRP £8.99). Fruu make fresh, UK made cosmetics using the freshest possible ingredients in small batches. The majority of their ingredients are made using by products of processed fruit waste, generating vital extra income for small fruit farmers! Their deodorants are all sustainably and responsibly made and packaged to reduce the use of plastic where possible. A portion of their profits is donated to the World Wide Fund for Nature to help preserve natural diversity.
This 100% natural, aluminium free, sodium bicarbonate free deodorant balm is made with a blend of grapefruit, juniper berry, rose and sandalwood essential oils. It is silky, non greasy and suitable for sensitive skin. It offers all day protection and is a safe, non toxic alternative to some of the more popular brands. It is made using sustainable 'wonky' and surplus fruit ingredients and is totally cruelty free and vegan.
I have never seen a deodorant in a tube like this before, which is very intriguing! It smells absolutely incredible- it will definitely wake me up in the morning! I haven't yet tried this, as I explained in my unboxing, I am still finishing off another natural deodorant and I don't like having too many things open at once so this is next in line!
Finally, we have another brand that I haven't tried- although I have heard of them! Soap N Skin Skin Soak Epsom Salts Lavender and Lime (RRP £5). Soap N Skin was founded on a desire to empower women to change the way they see beauty. Their products are handmade in small batches with essential oils, botanic extracts and natural ingredients. They support British producers and suppliers and are committed to making a real impact on the communities where their ingredients are sourced. They are passionate advocates for gender equality and empowering women across the globe, employing 600 Berber women, ensuring them a fair wage and free child care and healthcare, to hand press the argan oil used in their products and offering the opportunity to work to provide a better future for themselves.
These bath salts are designed to help you soak and soothe away your aches and pains. They are rich in Magnesium and infused with Lavender oil. The soothing and anti-inflammatory properties of both Lavender and Calendula work in harmony with the astringent effects of Lime to purify and tone the skin. Of course, they are vegan and cruelty free too!
I don't actually have a bath in my flat but I do like to use products like this as foot soaks as they can be so soothing to my poor feet! I plan to do this after my first few days of my new job, which I start tomorrow (17th May)!

I am honestly so impressed with everything about this box, from the beautiful presentation, to the theme and of course the products included! I have been introduced to a couple of new brands as well as reacquainted with some old favourites and everything is useable for me. Another thing I love is that the brands featured are so different from the brands you see in other boxes, and there is information about the brand themselves on the product card. which makes it so much more fun to review! Thank you so much to Samantha for sending this over again- I am hooked!
