The Natural Beauty Box April 2022 review- The Radiance Edit.
Yes, it's that time again- and a brand new year! Every time The Natural Beauty Box lands on my doorstep, it feels like Christmas, even though the festive period is now behind us once again! For those of you who are unfamiliar (where have you been?!), the Natural Beauty Box are a monthly subscription service featuring only natural, cruelty free products that are often also vegan and organic. I have been getting this box for 3 years now and in that time, I have not once been disappointed.
As is the standard now, I unboxed this on my YouTube channel, which you can catch here:
I only saw one spoiler for the items inside, which just added to the excitement. The theme for April was 'Radiance, 4 products to help you get that glow- and a plastic free edit too! A mixture of brands I know and brands I don't, I can't wait to tell you about it!
First up was a brand that I am familiar with- although it is by no means a bad thing to see them again! Niskama Skincare Velvet Skin Shimmering Butter Melt (RRP £21.50) is a balm enriched with Wild Rose and Raspberry Oil that offers a decadent and delicious treatment for the body and face to deliver visibly radiant, youthful looking skin with a subtle shimmering effect for that desired glow. It is suitable for all skin types but especially those who have dry, parched and problematic skin that breaks out. It is for those women who seek the balance between delicious, crazy pleasure and the daily need for warmth and tenderness - I think that is all of us, right? I absolutely love this- as I knew I would based on previous experiences with this brand. It smells absolutely gorgeous, sinks into the skin without leaving it feeling greasy and leaves that subtle shimmer on the skin that we all crave in the warmer weather. I also love that a little really does go a long way and I could still feel how soft my skin was the next day. I am prone to the odd flare up of eczema on my neck and a patch on my wrist where my watch goes, so I am always conscious of the products I use in these areas in case they make it worse but I needn't have worried as this caused no flare ups- I would even say there was a slight improvement the next day! A great discovery!
Next up, and a product I have actually tried in the past (and loved!)- Purity Natural Beauty Radiance Eye Gel (RRP £16.99). This helps to brighten and rejuvenate your eyes while reducing dark circles and puffiness. It contains Marine Collagen from Seaweed Extract which is rich in antioxidants to inhibit Collagenase, the enzyme that breaks down Collagen, making this gel effective at preventing the formation of lines and wrinkles too. It also contains Avocado Oil, which is rich in Vitamin K and antioxidants to reduce dark circles and puffiness as well as Green Tea Extract which contains caffeine to reduce swelling and tightens the skin around the eyes to reduce dark circles and puffiness. I did really like this when I last tried it, I found it had such a soothing effect on my eyes- particularly after a lack of sleep or staring at a screen all day at work! I do have an issue with dark circles, and this did help to reduce them so I am hopeful it will have the same results this time around. I am really glad to have another one and as it is an eye cream and you only need a little, it should last a while. One other thing I love about this is that the label on the jar actually contains seeds, so you can peel it off once the cream is finished, plant it and grow some pretty plants!
Next up is a brand I absolutely love, and a product I have been hoping would appear in this box- they never disappoint! Kri Skincare SPF30 Tinted Mineral Sunscreen (RRP £22.00) helps to protect your skin from UVA rays (responsible for premature aging) and UVB rays (responsible for burning and sun damage). This colour balancing, high protection broad spectrum sunscreen blends into skin with a semi matte finish. It absorbs quickly to form an instant protective barrier and feels weightless on the skin. It also won the Editors Choice Award at the Beauty Shortlist Awards this year! I have just run out of the facial SPF I had been using so this came at the perfect time. One thing I am always conscious of with suncream is the greasy feel and the white cast that it can often leave on the skin but with this, it was completely transparent on my skin due to the sheer tint. During the summer, I don't like to wear too much make up as it just melts off and feels too heavy on my skin so I lean more towards tinted moisturisers or BB creams. This is absolutely perfect to add a natural tint to the skin whilst protecting it from the sun and it also doesn't irritate sensitive skin or the eyes! I could not love this anymore if I tried- new holy grail for me!
Finally was a brand I haven't heard of- I can always rely on The Natural Beauty Box to introduce me to at least one new brand every month! This month, that is The Natural Spa Rose, Grapefruit and Lavender Solid Conditioner Bar (RRP £7.00). This is suitable for all hair types and lasts up to 80 washes- way more than a standard bottle of conditioner! It also doesn't have a transition period to get used to it, so you can just dive straight in! It helps you to get soft, healthy hair with a natural shine. This smells absolutely gorgeous- I could smell it before I opened the box! I have always been hit and miss with shampoo and conditioner bars due to my hair being super fussy, however I remain hopeful that I will find one that works for me. Maybe this will be it? I will let you all know!
So another amazing mix of products to bring some radiance into your life this spring! The total value of the items this month is £67.49, almost 3x the cost of the box!
There are a few different ways you can purchase or subscribe to this box:
Monthly rolling subscription- £24.95

6 month prepay- £138.00

They also do 'Lucky Dip' boxes on their website which contain 3 products from past boxes so you can get a taster for the service- this is priced at £12.95. For a limited time (at least, initially!), there are also Pick n Mix boxes available where you can choose either 3 items for £15 or 4 items for £20 from a selection menu. All of the above options include delivery.
I have said this so many times but I will say it again- this box is my absolute favourite and it never lets me down. It is not often that you can subscribe to a box for almost 4 years and not have a single 'dud' box or a repeat item but Emma, who is the woman behind this box, always manages to blow me away every month with new brand discoveries and some new products from old faithful brands I already know and love. I'm already excited for next months offering! Emma is also a lovely lady who puts so much heart and soul into every box- you can really feel the passion when you unbox it and it is testament to her passion that she absolutely smashes it every month! This box certainly deserves all the success and I cannot wait to see what delights await me in the May edit!
