The Natural Beauty Box December 2021 review- The Noel Christmas edit.

Yes, it is that time again- and the last box of the year from Natural Beauty Box! Where has this year gone?!

Every time The Natural Beauty Box lands on my doorstep, it feels like Christmas! For those of you who are unfamiliar (where have you been?!), the Natural Beauty Box are a monthly subscription service featuring only natural, cruelty free products that are often also vegan and organic. I have been getting this box for 3 years now and in that time, I have not once been disappointed.

As is the standard now, I unboxed this on my YouTube channel, which you can catch here:

I only saw a couple of spoilers this time, but there was no way I was waiting until Christmas Day to unwrap this gift! A mixture of brands I know and brands I don't, I can't wait to tell you about it!

The first item was a brand I have heard of, but never had the chance to try! I was very excited to see the Skyn Bakery Beauty Infused Solid Serum (RRP £24.99)! This is non greasy, lightweight and doesn't clog the pores so it is suitable for all skin types- including acne and blemish prone skin! It is a highly concentrated serum that has been developed over 18 months and contains some of the finest of nature's active ingredients such as Hibiscus (regenerative properties), Calendula (Healing properties and ability to plump and firm skin), Frankincense (anti ageing properties), Borage Oil (soothes dry skin and boost natural moisture barrier), Maracuja Oil (Healing and contains Vitamin F), Rosehip Oil (anti ageing, moisturising and helps with collagen production) and Sea Buckthorn Oil (helps to strengthen and restore skin elasticity).

This is my first experience with this brand and I was so excited to try this, as it is said to leave the skin silky smooth whilst soothing, healing and improving the elasticity and appearance of the skin too. I love a skin serum but have never tried a solid one before, so this was a whole new discovery for me! I love the delicate scent of this serum and the fact that you don't need a lot thanks to it's high concentration. I was worried that it would leave that shiny sheen we sometimes see after using serums or oils but there was nothing like that. I couldn't even feel it on my face, but I sure knew it was there as my skin felt so hydrated and so soft. I didn't need to use a primer before my makeup as it just glided on! Absolutely love this!

The next item was a limited edition Maggie Anne Nail Polish (RRP £10.98) in one of their new Autumn/Winter shades. They are a multi award winning, vegan and cruelty free nail polish brand. They have a range of amazing colours in their range since starting in 2016. All their formulas are toxin free and made right here in the UK, which cuts down on carbon emissions to stay as eco friendly as possible. They have a 2 year shelf life once opened and are stored in glass bottles, which can be recycled. Excitingly, the team are also in the process of sourcing a bamboo alternative lid too!

There were 3 possible shades you could have received- Rebecca, a black and sparkly polish, Victoria, a dramatic and dark chocolate brown and Keeley, a lighter cocoa brown. I received Rebecca, which is the one I was hoping for. I get my nails done professionally but I will definitely use this for my toes, it has been a while since I painted them! I love the depth of the colour- black is so sophisticated and goes with anything! The sparkle adds that extra pop.

Next up was a completely new brand to me- Diya Wellness Relaxing Bath Salts (RRP £8.00). These provide a calming and blissful soak to pamper your skin and mind. Delicately balanced to promote deep relaxation with mineral loaded salt infused with pure botanics, to keep your skin soft and nourished. They contain a blend of Dead Sea Salt (rejuvenating and hydrating), Epsom Salt (heals aching muscles), Lavender (relaxing and calming, improves sleep quality), Sandalwood (helps focus the mind) and Vetiver (helps to reduce anxiety, fatigue, depression and insomnia).

First, the packaging for these is absolutely stunning, it caught my eye immediately. I don't actually have a bath in my flat, so I won't be able to use these for their intended purpose as often as I would like (I use this sort of thing at my mums house whenever I can) but I can use them as a foot soak- which I exactly what I will be doing after the Christmas madness that is to come!

The fourth item was a brand who are no stranger to me- I have reviewed them right here! Grace and Hartland Merry and Bright Face Mask (RRP £10). This contains Kaolin Clay, Cranberry and Orange Peel powders to draw out impurities, add nourishment and leave a healthy glow!

I absolutely love a good face mask, and powder formulas seem to be having a bit of moment right now! You simply mix with a little water to form a paste, apply to your skin and then remove with a washcloth after 10 minutes. As is always the case with this brand, the quality is exceptional, my skin glowed all day and felt so soft. Sometimes with clay formulas, my skin can feel quite tight and dry after but not with this! Another amazing product from Grace and Hartland!

Finally, we had another brand I have tried before, Sonestia Blood Orange Lip Balm (RRP £5). This is perfect for replenishing dry and cracked lips. It contains healing Calendula, organic fair trade Shea Butter to repair and hydrate as well as Berry Wax to add a velvet touch to the balm and Blood Orange essential oil to give that fruity scent. A winter essential!

I will be honest- I am not a fan of Orange in any shape or form. I never have been. I am that person that will pick the orange flavoured sweets out and the mention of chocolate orange makes me gag. However, when an item is good, I can overlook if there is an orange scent to it and this lip balm- as with every other Sonestia item I have tried, is great! I can get past the scent as it really does leave my lips feeling hydrated and nourished. My lips really suffer in the winter months and as I am prone to the occasional cold sore, I like to do all I can to prevent them. Having this in my handbag/pocket has been a life saver for me!

Yet again, another amazing mix of items worth £55!

There are a few different ways you can purchase or subscribe to this box:

  • Monthly rolling subscription- £24.95

  • 3 month prepay- £71.10

  • 6 month prepay- £138.00

  • One off box- £25.95

  • Bimonthly- £24.95 every 2 months

  • Plastic free quarterly- £24.95 every quarter

They also do 'Lucky Dip' boxes on their website which contain 3 products from past boxes so you can get a taster for the service- this is priced at £12.95. For a limited time (at least, initially!), there are also Pick n Mix boxes available where you can choose either 3 items for £15 or 4 items for £20 from a selection menu. All of the above options include delivery.

I have said this so many times but I will say it again- this box is my absolute favourite and it never lets me down. It is not often that you can subscribe to a box for 3 years and not have a single 'dud' box or a repeat item but Emma, who is the woman behind this box, always manages to blow me away every month with new brand discoveries and some new products from old faithful brands I already know and love. I'm already excited for next months offering! Emma is also a lovely lady who puts so much heart and soul into every box- you can really feel the passion when you unbox it and it is testament to her passion that she absolutely smashes it every month! This box certainly deserves all the success and I cannot wait to see what delights await me in the New Year and beyond!
