The Natural Beauty Box January 2022 review- The Breathe Edit.

Yes, it's that time again- and a brand new year! Every time The Natural Beauty Box lands on my doorstep, it feels like Christmas, even though the festive period is now behind us once again! For those of you who are unfamiliar (where have you been?!), the Natural Beauty Box are a monthly subscription service featuring only natural, cruelty free products that are often also vegan and organic. I have been getting this box for 3 years now and in that time, I have not once been disappointed.

As is the standard now, I unboxed this on my YouTube channel, which you can catch here:

I think this is the first time in a while where I have seen spoilers for all the items inside! I'm not complaining though, it just added to the excitement! The theme for January was 'Breathe', and it is also a plastic free edit! A mixture of brands I know and brands I don't, I can't wait to tell you about it!

The first item was truly stunning and a new brand to me too! Geoscentric Candles in the Cube Unwind variation (RRP £12). This is made using Soy Wax, a cotton wick and 100% pure essential oils of Bergamot, Lavender and Ylang Ylang. Each candle is carefully crafted and designed to create an atmosphere and bring it's own transformative energy into every room. It has a modern and elegant design and a stunning scent! I am so impressed with this, I love everything about it! The scent is so relaxing, the design is eye catching and I absolutely love the other designs on the website too!

Next up, and another new brand for me was Awake Organics Sea Quartz Crystal and Algae Cleanser (RRP £12). This is a gentle, natural and exfoliating cleanser that you can use daily. It removes dead skin, detoxifies and brightens the skin. When it makes contact with water, it turns into a milky consistency to make it easy to wash away. It contains Organic Tumeric, Brown Rice and Organic Spirulina to detoxify, brighten, refine and freshen skin. Also, for crystal gemstone lovers, each pot contains superfine, artisan-milled, genuine clear quartz powder. Just the right amount to infuse this product with positive energy! I love this cleanser, the consistency is so gentle and you don't need a lot, so it will last a while too. It made my skin feel squeaky clean and fresh!

Next up is a brand I am no stranger to, Organii Green Tea and Lime Cream Soap (RRP £2.95). This is a refreshing and zesty soap that has a lovely creamy lather. It has acne fighting ingredients such as green tea as well as skin softening shea butter. Added organic essential oils and organic green tea extract give this soap a wonderfully fresh fragrance while possessing potent antioxidant, anti inflammatory and skin smoothing properties. I love this brand- their facial spf is the best I have ever used- and this soap is truly beautiful, especially for the price! It smells delicious and is so gentle on the skin too.

Second to last product and another new discovery for me, Hairy Jayne Citrus Shampoo Bar (RRP £9). Hairy Jayne solid shampoo bars are natural, , pH balanced, plastic free, soap free, sulphate free, palm oil free, cruelty free and vegan. They cleanse and nourish both hair and scalp with Aloe Vera and Mango Butter. They are suitable for all hair types, 98% naturally derived and biodegradable. They also won a Gold award at the Free from Skincare awards 2020! I have said this before- shampoo bars just do not seem to suit my hair, as much as I would like them to! However, I am not one to give up and I am determined to find one that works- maybe this will be the one?

Finally, another brand I know and love, Sintra Naturals Body and Face Exfoliating Cubes (RRP £9.99). These delicately scented cubes scrub away dead skin cells with gentle bamboo stem powder which is considered a natural alternative to a dermabrasion. Added Apricot Kernal and Lemon Seed Oil moisturise and are anti-inflammatory. Finishing with Rhassoul and Kaolin Clays to draw out impurities to cleanse effectively. They were also a finalist in the 2021 Natural Health and Beauty Awards. These are gorgeous and I love that they can be used on the face and the body. There are 4 cubes inside, a generous size each- I would say you could use a full one for your body and half for your face- they are definitely a welcome addition from a brand I have become a big fan of!

So another amazing mix of products to bring some deep breaths into your life this season! The total value of the items this month is £45.94, almost double the cost of the box!

There are a few different ways you can purchase or subscribe to this box:

  • Monthly rolling subscription- £24.95

  • 3 month prepay- £71.10

  • 6 month prepay- £138.00

  • One off box- £25.95

  • Bimonthly- £24.95 every 2 months

  • Plastic free quarterly- £24.95 every quarter

They also do 'Lucky Dip' boxes on their website which contain 3 products from past boxes so you can get a taster for the service- this is priced at £12.95. For a limited time (at least, initially!), there are also Pick n Mix boxes available where you can choose either 3 items for £15 or 4 items for £20 from a selection menu. All of the above options include delivery.

I have said this so many times but I will say it again- this box is my absolute favourite and it never lets me down. It is not often that you can subscribe to a box for 3 years and not have a single 'dud' box or a repeat item but Emma, who is the woman behind this box, always manages to blow me away every month with new brand discoveries and some new products from old faithful brands I already know and love. I'm already excited for next months offering! Emma is also a lovely lady who puts so much heart and soul into every box- you can really feel the passion when you unbox it and it is testament to her passion that she absolutely smashes it every month! This box certainly deserves all the success and I cannot wait to see what delights await me in the February edit, as this also ties in with my birthday!
