The Natural Beauty Box May 2022 review- The Calm edit.

Yes, it's that time again- and a brand new year! Every time The Natural Beauty Box lands on my doorstep, it feels like Christmas! For those of you who are unfamiliar (where have you been?!), the Natural Beauty Box are a monthly subscription service featuring only natural, cruelty free products that are often also vegan and organic. I have been getting this box for 4 years now and in that time, I have not once been disappointed.

As is the standard now, I unboxed this on my YouTube channel, which you can catch here:

I only saw two spoilers for the items inside, which just added to the excitement. The theme for Maywas 'Calm', 4 products to help you calm and comfort your skin! A mixture of brands I know and brands I don't, I can't wait to tell you about it!

First up was one of the items I saw a spoiler for- Eloise Hall Pause Hand Cream (RRP £15). This has a naturally relaxing fragrance of Lavender, Geranium and Ylang Ylang amongst others in this beautiful essential oils blend to help you feel calm. This light, absorbent hand cream will enhance your mood and leave your skin feeling soft and smooth. It is especially soothing for dry skin conditions.

It is like they knew I was running low on hand cream! This is a huge 250ml bottle with a pump dispenser to help you get the right amount. It smells really light, delicate and calming and feels gorgeous on the skin. It sinks in quickly and doesn't feel greasy, whilst keeping my hands nourished. I love this! A new brand for me too!

Second was yet another new brand- I am very excited for this! Freya and Bailey REBOOT Superfoods Resilience Moisturiser (RRP £42!). This is a calming and comforting, light and fast absorbing cream with Hyaluronic Acid to plump the skin, reduce the appearance of fine lines and restore moisture to dehydrated skin. It doesn't clog the pores and is packed with antioxidant rich vitamins A, B, C, D and E from a superfood mix of ingredients, plus omega fatty acids, all from nutrient oils including wheatgerm, bilberry, passion fruit , plum and fig for supercharged suppleness.

I was so excited to see this as a spoiler- it looks so luxurious and high end! This smells absolutely amazing, and due to how rich the formula is, you don't need a lot. It doesn't feel heavy on the skin though and thanks to the pump dispenser, you get just the right amount!

Next, a brand I have heard of but never tried before- The Original Scrub Co Coconut and Arabica Coffee Body Scrub (RRP £5). This 100% natural scrub helps to improve the health and appearance of your skin. The caffeine increases blood flow to your skin, which helps to speed up the skin's natural renewal processes. The coconut has antimicrobial, hydrating properties and helps to reduce inflammation. Combined with Himalayan Pink Salt, packed with natural minerals that help the skin to detox, this is one powerful scrub!

I do not like coffee as a drink- I never have (I know, I am in a minority!). That being said though, I love it as a body scrub! I haven't used a scrub in a while as I have a fresh tattoo that is still healing (almost there!) so I can't use anything too harsh on my skin right now but I cannot wait until it is healed so I can bust this open!

Finally, and another new brand for me- that's 3 in one box! Jacqueline Organic Vanilla Hydrating Lip Balm (RRP £7). A creamy, buttery, soothing lip balm packed with antioxidants, vitamin e and heavy duty moisturisers, it leaves lips feeling hydrated. nourished and protected.

I love a lip balm- I have one in every room, bag and pocket! They are an absolute essential for me so I am always happy to have more. Vanilla is one of my absolute favourite scents and flavours so I knew I would love this- I was not wrong! It is so soft, smooth and leaves my lips feel moisturised and healthy- plus it smells beautiful- just like vanilla ice cream!

So another amazing mix of products to bring some radiance into your life this spring! The total value of the items this month is £68.95, almost 3x the cost of the box!

There are a few different ways you can purchase or subscribe to this box:

  • Monthly rolling subscription- £24.95

  • 3 month prepay- £71.10

  • 6 month prepay- £138.00

  • One off box- £25.95

  • Bimonthly- £24.95 every 2 months

  • Plastic free quarterly- £24.95 every quarter

They also do 'Lucky Dip' boxes on their website which contain 3 products from past boxes so you can get a taster for the service- this is priced at £12.95. For a limited time (at least, initially!), there are also Pick n Mix boxes available where you can choose either 3 items for £15 or 4 items for £20 from a selection menu. All of the above options include delivery.

I have said this so many times but I will say it again- this box is my absolute favourite and it never lets me down. It is not often that you can subscribe to a box for 4 years and not have a single 'dud' box or a repeat item but Emma, who is the woman behind this box, always manages to blow me away every month with new brand discoveries and some new products from old faithful brands I already know and love. I'm already excited for next months offering! Emma is also a lovely lady who puts so much heart and soul into every box- you can really feel the passion when you unbox it and it is testament to her passion that she absolutely smashes it every month! This box certainly deserves all the success and I cannot wait to see what delights await me in the May edit!
