The Natural Beauty Box October 2021 Review- The Autumn Gold Edit.

Yes, it's that time again- where is this year going? Every time The Natural Beauty Box lands on my doorstep, it feels like Christmas! For those of you who are unfamiliar (where have you been?!), the Natural Beauty Box are a monthly subscription service featuring only natural, cruelty free products that are often also vegan and organic. I have been getting this box for 3 years now and in that time, I have not once been disappointed.

As is the standard now, I unboxed this on my YouTube channel, which you can catch here:

I only saw a couple of spoilers for this box, which I love! I like to see at least one spoiler to get me excited but I also like the element of surprise too! The theme for October was 'Autumn Gold' and it was a fully plastic free edit too! A mixture of brands I know and brands I don't, I can't wait to tell you about it!

The first item was also their first Instagram spoiler- and a totally new brand to me! Hebe and Blu Frankincense and Gold Bath Salts (RRP £12.99). These just scream luxury to me! Frankincense (powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory), Clove (antimicrobial and anti fungal) and Sweet Orange (antimicrobial and a mood booster) essential oils combine with Kaolin Clay (for a silky smooth bathe), Dead Sea Salt (improves skin hydration and promotes good skin health) plus Botanicals such as Himalayan and Epsom Salts for a luxurious and restorative soak. It has a sophisticated woody and citrus aroma to really help you relax and sink into bliss.

I have mentioned a few times that I don't have a bath in the flat I currently live in but these are so gorgeous that I am definitely going to find a way to make use out of them. I will try a foot soak using these and will also take them over to my mums to borrow her bath and try them out properly. I absolutely adore the smell and I cannot wait to use them!

Next up is another new brand for me- I am liking this! Aructs Rosewood and Lavender Natural Leaf Soap (RRP £5.49). These are just so stunning! They come in a drawstring bag to keep them protected and together. They may look like a regular pile of leaves but these are actually handmade with an Organic Vegetable Soap base and are infused with the aromas and powerful properties of Rosewood and Lavender to give you the perfect blend of relaxing and deep cleansing. It is then hand poured over real magnolia leaves to create real soaps that look exquisite! They are, of course, environmentally sustainable too. Rosewood, as well as having a soothing and calming aroma, is also great for our skin. It is antiseptic and bactericidal which makes it useful in treating acne, and due to its gentle nature it is good for most sensitive skin too. Lavender, as I am sure you already know, is long trusted for it's relaxing aroma and it is used the world over to help us drift off to sleep.

I am honestly besotted with these, they are just so pretty. I almost don't want to use them as I can't bear to destroy them! They smell lovely- I could smell them before I opened the box- and will be an interesting addition to my bathroom!

The third brand- and another new discovery- is Object Beauty Moisturising Shampoo Bar (RRP £14). This has won Best Sustainable Hair Product at the Global Green Beauty Awards 2021 and I am looking forward to finding out why! This is said to create a rich lather that gives volume and body to dry, dull hair. It is the equivalent to up to 3 bottles of liquid shampoo (so saves you money as well as the environment!) and is made with the best natural ingredients such as Moringa, Argan Oil and Coconut Milk, as well as being scented using natural essential oils (ylang ylang, cedarwood, citronella and lavandin) with aromatherapeutic properties.

I will be honest here- I have yet to find a shampoo bar that my hair gets on with! That is not the fault of the shampoo bars- my hair is just incredibly fussy and difficult to manage! I really like the smell of this and I am so hoping that this is my holy grail- I really want to find a shampoo bar that works for me! I will keep you all updated.

The fourth item is from a brand that are no stranger to me, and who have had their own feature on this very blog recently! I am so happy to see them return! Grace and Hartland Exotic and Sensual Bath and Body Oil (RRP £7.50). With skin nourishing Rosehip Oil, Grapeseed Oil and Lemon Seed Oil as well as a gorgeous blend of essential oils such as Neroli and Jasmine, this beautiful oil awakens the senses for a tropical, spa like experience.

I absolutely love every item I have tried from this brand and I am not expecting anything different here either! I have not yet given this a go as I am currently finishing up another body oil and I like to make sure I finish items before opening another one to avoid having too many products on the go at once. This has gone straight to the top of the list to try next though!

Finally, another brand I have used before! Eco Vibe Bamboo Cotton Buds (RRP £4.99). These are a bathroom essential for me, however I do know that these are not great for the environment so I have been trying to cut down on my usage. Eco Vibe to the rescue! These are made using sustainably grown bamboo and cotton, use 100% natural materials and are soft and gentle on the skin.

Did you know that plastic cotton buds have been listed as one of the top 10 forms of ocean litter? This actually shocked me, so I am glad these arrived when they did! They are biodegradable and much more eco friendly. Bamboo grows up to 4 feet in a day, doesn't require any fertiliser or pesticides to grow and is much more efficient at taking carbon dioxide and producing oxygen than trees, making it a super sustainable ingredient. Once you have finished with these, you can simply throw them into organic waste or use them in compost. It is a pack of 100, so should last me a while!

So another amazing mix of products to bring some luxury golden sparkle into your life this autumn! The total value of the items this month is £45.97, almost double the cost of the box!

There are a few different ways you can purchase or subscribe to this box:

  • Monthly rolling subscription- £24.95

  • 3 month prepay- £71.10

  • 6 month prepay- £138.00

  • One off box- £25.95

  • Bimonthly- £24.95 every 2 months

  • Plastic free quarterly- £24.95 every quarter

They also do 'Lucky Dip' boxes on their website which contain 3 products from past boxes so you can get a taster for the service- this is priced at £10. All of the above options include delivery.

I have said this so many times but I will say it again- this box is my absolute favourite and it never lets me down. It is not often that you can subscribe to a box for 3 years and not have a single 'dud' box or a repeat item but Emma, who is the woman behind this box, always manages to blow me away every month with new brand discoveries and some new products from old faithful brands I already know and love. I'm already excited for next months offering! Emma is also a lovely lady who puts so much heart and soul into every box- you can really feel the passion when you unbox it and it is testament to her passion that she absolutely smashes it every month! This box certainly deserves all the success!
