The Natural Beauty Box October 2022 review- The Face on/Face off edit

Yes, it's that time again! Every time The Natural Beauty Box lands on my doorstep, it feels like Christmas! For those of you who are unfamiliar (where have you been?!), the Natural Beauty Box are a monthly subscription service featuring only natural, cruelty free products that are often also vegan and organic. I have been getting this box for 4 years now and in that time, I have not once been disappointed.

As is the standard now, I unboxed this on my YouTube channel, which you can catch here:

The theme for October was Face On/Face Off. I had seen a couple of spoilers and was very excited to get my hands on this box- as always! This edit is also plastic free!

First up was a new brand for me- Bomonde Mineral Makeup and their Giant Vegan Kabuki Brush plus Foundation Sample Pack (RRP £22.45 for both). The brush is designed for mineral foundation application. It's a super soft brush which gives even application which can be built up effortlessly to your desired coverage. It gives a flawless and natural look. Synthetic brushes have long been considered more long-wearing and a more robust option, as they are extremely easy to wash, dry and re-set, and they don't tend to attract as much bacteria as natural brushes, making them more hygienic. It's silhouette is big chunky and fluffy with rounded, tapered bristles to give seamless all-over setting. With The Giant Kabuki Brush, powder is evenly dispersed all over the face to give you a soft, diffused veil of powder with one effortless application. Three different foundations samples were included in the little envelope so that you can find the right match for your skin tone. I received the light pack which has: Chloe - Light Cool shade.

Kat - Light Olive tone and Kimberley - Light to medium beige tone.

This brush is absolutely stunning, from the wooden handle, the drawstring carrier and the super soft bristles. I just kept stroking my hand with it in the unboxing video. I have not yet tried the foundation samples as I only really wear foundation if I am going out somewhere but I will definitely reach for these next time!

Up next was a brand I am no stranger too- but a product from them that I haven't tried- Flawless Skincare Micellar Water (RRP £4.95). With Aloe and Lavender, it has anti-inflammatory properties to soothe, heal and hydrate the skin whilst effectively removing makeup, excess oil and dirt. It is great at keeping the skin clear, fresh and blemish free. Plus, they only use plastic free and zero waste packaging which is great for the planet.

I have tried a few products from their line before but this one is one I haven't yet tried so I am excited to be introduced! Micellar water is an everyday essential, I love how gentle it is but how well it works at leaving my skin feeling squeaky clean. My only slight issue is that the bottle itself doesn't have a stopper or applicator of sorts, which means you have to be super careful not to spill it or get too much out. But that is only a small issue and doesn't take away from the quality of the product at all!

Another new brand for me now in the form of Whitfords Fruit AHA's Exfoliating Mask 5 Minute Treatment (RRP £30). A gentle mask that removes impurities and dead cells for a brighter look and super smooth feel. It doubles up as a conditioning mask powered by nourishing watermelon, buriti and jojoba oils leaving skin feeling replenished and reinvigorated. It is suitable for all skin types, which is great to know. It contains salicylic acid from Willow bark and alpha hydroxy acids from fruits. There are no plastic microbeads or hidden liquid plastics. They use pure biodegradable castor oil beads to achieve a gentle polish without causing irritation. It also does not contain any harsh preservatives, synthetic fragrances or petroleum-derived ingredients.

Who doesn't love a good mask? This one definitely sounds like something I need at this time of year, as I find that my skin is super dull in the winter months. I cannot wait for my next pamper day to give this a try!

Finally, another brand I am familiar with, but very happy to see again! Sintra Naturals Organic All Day Facial Balm (RRP £18.99). A new, anti ageing, moisturising day balm with a new ingredient- Macro Algae, which has been clinically tested to reduce the signs of ageing. Plus the inclusion of Maqui Berry Oil which aids in skin regeneration and protects from pollution and UV rays. It is highly moisturising, soothing and nourishing, making it ideal for Autumn/Winter and harsher weather. This is a gender neutral product and can be used by both men and women.

I love the texture of this, it feels so luxurious but doesn't feel like it is heavy on the skin. It distributes easily and sinks in quickly, leaving skin soft, radiant and nourished. It really does stay all day too, I could still feel it working well into the evening and my skin felt protected from the elements all day.

So another amazing mix of products to bring some radiance into your life this Autumn! The total value of the items this month is £76! Such an incredible saving!

There are a few different ways you can purchase or subscribe to this box:

  • Monthly rolling subscription- £24.95

  • 3 month prepay- £71.10

  • 6 month prepay- £138.00

  • One off box- £25.95

  • Bimonthly- £24.95 every 2 months

  • Plastic free quarterly- £24.95 every quarter

They also do 'Lucky Dip' boxes on their website which contain 3 products from past boxes so you can get a taster for the service- this is priced at £12.95. For a limited time (at least, initially!), there are also Pick n Mix boxes available where you can choose either 3 items for £15 or 4 items for £20 from a selection menu. All of the above options include delivery.

I have said this so many times but I will say it again- this box is my absolute favourite and it never lets me down. It is not often that you can subscribe to a box for 4 years and not have a single 'dud' box or a repeat item but Emma, who is the woman behind this box, always manages to blow me away every month with new brand discoveries and some new products from old faithful brands I already know and love. I'm already excited for next months offering! Emma is also a lovely lady who puts so much heart and soul into every box- you can really feel the passion when you unbox it and it is testament to her passion that she absolutely smashes it every month! This box certainly deserves all the success and I cannot wait to see what delights await me in the November edit- hopefully some products to get us in the mood for the festive season!
