The Natural Beauty Box October 2023 review- The Autumn Glow edit.

Yes, it's that time again! Every time The Natural Beauty Box lands on my doorstep, it feels like Christmas! For those of you who are unfamiliar (where have you been?!), the Natural Beauty Box are a monthly subscription service featuring only natural, cruelty free products that are often also vegan and organic. I have been getting this box for 5 years now and in that time, I have not once been disappointed.

As is the standard now, I unboxed this on my YouTube channel, which you can catch here:

The theme for October was Autumn Glow and due to being away for most of the month (stay tuned for a separate post about this!), I didn't see any spoilers. This box is also plastic free!

First up is a brand I have tried once before- Kind2 Fragrance Free Conditioner Bar (RRP £12.50). Coconut, Macadamia and Argan oils combined to create a light yet powerful conditioner to nourish your hair, making it soft and shiny. A long lasting and concentrated bar, it won Bronze at last years Free From Awards.

I was actually using my other Kind2 Conditioner bar on my recent trip and really liked it. I have really fussy hair, so this is no mean feat! I am hopeful that this will be the same and I cannot wait to try it when my current on runs out.

Next is another brand I am familiar with- Purity Natural Beauty Youth Glow Face Cream (RRP £14). Travel sized, plant based face cream blending powerful anti ageing extracts of Hibiscus and Gotu Kola that tighten and plump skin, with active ingredients to create a flawless and youthful looking complexion. The soothing, creamy texture leaves the skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated after the first application.

You can never have too many face creams, and as much as I am still trying to hide from it, now that I am in my 30's, I do need to start thinking about anti-ageing products. Prevention is better than the cure, right? What a perfect place to start with this gorgeous cream. Whilst it is too soon to tell if this will help keep me looking youthful for years to come, there is no doubt that my skin loves this and it feels much plumper and softer.

The third item is a new brand for me- The Natural Spa Co Chocolate Orange Body Scrub (RRP £4.99)- travel size. A sugar based scrub blended with Apricot oil to gently buff away dead skin cells while nourishing and softening the skin underneath to leave soft, smooth, clearer skin. With cocoa butter extract and orange essential oil for a deliciously warming autumn aroma.

I said this on the video and have said it a few times before- I cannot stand Orange. The flavour, the smell, nothing. I realise I am in a minority here but I have never liked it my whole life. That being said, when it comes to beauty products, I am willing to overlook my aversion to Orange when a product is good- and this scrub really is amazing! I love that it doesn't leave your skin with a greasy film layer like a lot of scrubs do when you wash them off, instead leaving my skin primed for the application of lotion. I can't deny that it has a rich fragrance and it is certainly autumnal- if you like the smell of orange then you will absolutely adore this!

Finally, there was another new brand for me- Authentic House Patchouli, Black Pepper and Vanilla Candle (RRP £12.50). The spicy warmth of pepper, saffron and nutmeg unfolds into a fruity woody aroma with apricot, ciste labdanum and creamy osmanthus. Lastly, you will be left with the lingering sweetness of peach and vanilla balanced with earthy patchouli and oud.

Candles for me are an essential at this time of year. They create such a cosy atmosphere and fill your home with gorgeous scent. There is just something so special about lighting a candle, curling up under a blanket with a hot chocolate and watching (or rewatching) your favourite series. This candle smells stunning and is the perfect autumnal scent to create cosy vibes wherever you light it. See you in the spring!

So another amazing mix of products! The total value of the items this month is a staggering £44! Such an incredible saving!

There are a few different ways you can purchase or subscribe to this box:

  • Monthly rolling subscription- £24.95

  • 3 month prepay- £71.10

  • 6 month prepay- £138.00

  • One off box- £25.95

  • Bimonthly- £24.95 every 2 months

  • Plastic free quarterly- £24.95 every quarter

They also do 'Lucky Dip' boxes on their website which contain 3 products from past boxes so you can get a taster for the service- this is priced at £12.95. For a limited time (at least, initially!), there are also Pick n Mix boxes available where you can choose either 3 items for £15 or 4 items for £20 from a selection menu. All of the above options include delivery.

I have said this so many times but I will say it again- this box is my absolute favourite and it never lets me down. It is not often that you can subscribe to a box for 5 years and not have a single 'dud' box or a repeat item but Emma, who is the woman behind this box, always manages to blow me away every month with new brand discoveries and some new products from old faithful brands I already know and love. I'm already excited for next months offering! Emma is also a lovely lady who puts so much heart and soul into every box- you can really feel the passion when you unbox it and it is testament to her passion that she absolutely smashes it every month! This box certainly deserves all the success and I cannot wait to see what delights await me in the November edit- hopefully some treats to prepare us for the festive season!
