The Natural Beauty Box September 2021 Review- The Replenish Edit

Yes, it's that time again- where is this year going? Every time The Natural Beauty Box lands on my doorstep, it feels like Christmas! For those of you who are unfamiliar (where have you been?!), the Natural Beauty Box are a monthly subscription service featuring only natural, cruelty free products that are often also vegan and organic. I have been getting this box for 3 years now and in that time, I have not once been disappointed.

As is the standard now, I unboxed this on my YouTube channel, which you can catch here:

I only saw a couple of spoilers for this box, which I love! I like to see at least one spoiler to get me excited but I also like the element of surprise too! The theme for September was 'Replenish'. A mixture of brands I know and brands I don't, I can't wait to tell you about it!

I was very excited to see the first item as it is a brand I am a big fan of! BAO Skincare Restorative Beauty Oil (RRP £27). This has a blend of organic plant and flower oils which makes it a must have in your skincare routine. Your skin will drink up every last drop to leave it supple, dewy and radiant. It is also perfect for oily and combination skin types and it deeply nourishes, softens and replenishes every skin cell. It is designed to reduce pigmentation and even out skin tone, calm redness and sensitivity, smooth and soften your complexion, reduce fine lines and wrinkles and give a dewy, glowing appearance. It contains Jojoba and baobab to soften, protect and brighten the skin and it comes in a pump bottle so you can get the right amount every time.

I have used a few items by this brand now and have loved every single one, so I was not expecting this to be any different. What I loved about this was that even though it is a rich formula, it sank into the skin and didn't leave it looking or feeling greasy- I do find that with facial oils, they can sometimes feel heavy on the skin but this is absolutely beautiful and my skin just glowed!

Item number 2 and another brand I have used before was Kathleen Naturals Dead Sea Mud Clay Mask (RRP £19). This contains Kaolin Clay and Dead Sea Mud to draw out dirt, impurities and toxins as well as absorb excess oil. It visibly improves the look of pores and skin texture and makes the skin look brighter and feel more thoroughly cleansed. Dead sea mud is known to provide healing benefits to the skin and strengthen the skin membranes to promote a healthy balance of oils. Kaolin clay helps to draw out impurities and absorb oils. Rose Water freshens, hydrates and nourishes the skin. Shea Butter moisturises, protects against fine lines and wrinkles, is anti UV, helps fight acne, promotes and softens rough skin, helps reinforce micro circulation and collagen production and makes the skin stronger, younger looking and more supple. Vitamin E helps with immunity and strength for healthy skin and protects from damage thanks to the antioxidant properties. Sunflower Oil is rich in Omega 6 to help with skin elasticity as well as helping with wound healing thanks to its tissue stimulating and regenerating properties. This mask also acts as an aromatherapy product to soothe and relax your mood thanks to the inclusion of Lemon, Geranium and Frankincense essential oils.

I absolutely love a good face mask, especially when it sounds like everything I have been looking for! Clay masks are amazing but they can also leave the skin feeling really tight during and after use so I was a little apprehensive but I needn't have worried- this was so nourishing and my skin felt squeaky clean too! I couldn't stop touching it because of how soft it was!

Item number 3, and a new brand for me! Dalia Botanique Sea Buckthorn Face and Body Butter (RRP £12). This is a skin nourishing blend of Chamomile, Calendula (one of my favourite skincare ingredients!) and Hemp in a Murumuru and Shea (another of my favourites!) base with Sea Buckthorn Oil. Packed with vitamins and fatty acids to keep the skin soft, smooth, supple and prevent the signs of ageing.

This brand is a very small business in Yorkshire. I am a Yorkshire girl born and raised, so I am very happy to be giving this a go! It has a delightful texture and I absolutely loved how it made my skin feel so hydrated and soft even into the next day. A little goes a long way with this too, so it should last a while!

Onto item 4, and a brand I have tried before. Aromantic Orange Blossom Hydrolat (RRP £6.30). This is suitable for all skin types as a toner. It has astringent properties to calm and soothe irritated skin and it can also be used during the day to add shine to the hair. It is made by steam distillation of the flowers of the organic bitter orange tree.

I said this in the unboxing- toners are an essential in my routine and are criminally under represented in beauty boxes so I was very happy to see this! I like the subtle scent of it and the fresh, almost tingly feeling I got when I applied it which just made my skin feel so clean and ready to face the day! I haven't used it on my hair yet but I absolutely love that I can and I will definitely be giving it a go!

Finally, another brand I am no stranger to- not that I am complaining! Friendly Soap Company Travel Soap (RRP £2.75). This space saving soap can be used as a shampoo, body wash and even to wash your clothes! With Coconut, Castor and Olive Oil, it will nourish and cleanse while the essential oils blend pf Lavender, Tea Tree, Lemongrass and Peppermint smells fresh and uplifting. It is fully bio-degradable, antiseptic, anti fungal and repels insects harmlessly!

I absolutely love every soap I have ever tried from Friendly Soap- they always smell beautiful, are kind to the skin and lather up beautifully to leave you skin clean and fresh. I also love a multitasker, so the fact that this can be used for so many purposes is amazing. It smells gorgeous and even though I haven't used it yet (I am using up another bar soap first), I am considering trying clothes washing with it to see what happens!

So another amazing mix of products to help you renew, unwind and freshen up- Replenish indeed! The total value of the items this month is £67.05, over double the cost of the box!

There are a few different ways you can purchase or subscribe to this box:

  • Monthly rolling subscription- £24.95

  • 3 month prepay- £71.10

  • 6 month prepay- £138.00

  • One off box- £25.95

  • Bimonthly- £24.95 every 2 months

  • Plastic free quarterly- £24.95 every quarter

They also do 'Lucky Dip' boxes on their website which contain 3 products from past boxes so you can get a taster for the service- this is priced at £10. All of the above options include delivery.

I have said this so many times but I will say it again- this box is my absolute favourite and it never lets me down. It is not often that you can subscribe to a box for 3 years and not have a single 'dud' box or a repeat item but Emma, who is the woman behind this box, always manages to blow me away every month with new brand discoveries and some new products from old faithful brands I already know and love. I'm already excited for next months offering! Emma is also a lovely lady who puts so much heart and soul into every box- you can really feel the passion when you unbox it and it is testament to her passion that she absolutely smashes it every month! This box certainly deserves all the success!
